Status: Independent Contractor
Your status at Donna's is as an Independent Contractor.
Some of what that means is that you will be issued a 1099
tax form at the end of the year. You are responsible for
paying your own employment taxes. Contact your tax service
for advice and more information.
As an Independent Contractor, you will sign an agreement
with Donna's that will cover the terms and conditions of
your length of employment. You are responsible for reading
and understanding this agreement, in detail, and any other
additions to this agreement that may be made in the
future.
Licensing and Medical
Independent Contractors/Working Girls are required by the
State of Nevada to get a medical clearance and a license to
conduct their business. This process is easily done and is
mandatory.
The medical clearance consists of having a culture done
and blood drawn. These are sent to the lab for examination
and the clearance is issued to Donna's in approximately one
working days. After your medical clearance is issued you
will go to the local police station where you will get your
license.
The licensing process consists of you bringing or faxing
your medical clearance to the police station and being
fingerprinted. Your fingerprints are required by the
licensing agent to provide information as to any criminal
history that is outstanding. If there is anything
outstanding, you will not clear, therefore, you will not be
able to work (see the document that is included with your
work agreement for more details on this subject). It is also
required that you bring a picture identification with you.
There are fees involved with your medical clearance and
licensing that you are responsible for paying. At this time,
they are as follows:
Medical: Culture: 40.00 Blood:
30.00
License: 50.00
The medical is an ongoing expense as follows:
Once a week, you will either visit a clinic or a medical
doctor will come to the house and you will get a culture
done. Blood test are done monthly. This process is both
required by the State of Nevada and for your medical safety.
This expense is part of your costs as an independent
contractor, therefore, may be taken off your taxes at the
end of the year. You will not be able to work if you do
not maintain medical clearance.
Room and Board
You will be provided with a private room and your meals
while working at Donna's at a minimum cost per day. Your
room is your "office" in which you conduct your business. It
should be kept clean and orderly and supplied, both for your
comfort and for the comfort of your guests. You are
responsible for keeping your room clean, washing your
bedding, etc. You can make arrangements with the bar manager
on duty to do this service for you for an agreed upon tip.
Otherwise, your room is your responsibility.
Keep in mind that the owners/managers have invested time
and money in creating a certain quality and standard of
living for you to enjoy and work in. Your position is to
maintain this standard.
Meals are prepared for you daily. There are rules of
conduct that apply to the kitchen because, although this is
your house, it is also a business and the kitchen is part of
that business. As in any other areas of the house, the
kitchen facilities are to be maintained in a clean manner.
You are responsible for cleaning up after yourself, even
though there is a cook and a bar manager on duty, we are a
team. In order for you to be successful, the team must be
successful. That will only come about if we all accept
responsibility for our actions and do our part.
General Procedures
There is a time-proven process that is established in
this business that provides you with practical knowledge you
will need in order to conduct your business. The following
is an outline:
While at Donna's, you will be expected to conduct
yourself in a manner that is both professional and ethical.
Anything less is unacceptable. Examples of unacceptable
behavior would include: dirty hustling, unwillingness to
abide by house guidelines, offensive behavior of any kind
towards fellow employees, staff, management, or customers.
Stealing and/or drug use, This behavior puts everyone at
risk and must be avoided. It will also be reason for
termination. Remember: you share these facilities with
fellow workers and your conduct affects them and the
atmosphere of the house. You are courtesans, conduct
yourself accordingly.
Supplies
The following is a list of basic supplies you will need
to provide at your own expense:
Condoms: There will be no sexual
activity, of any kind, without the use of condoms. This is a
State law and will be strictly adhered to.
Lubricants: There are many different
kinds on the market, choose one you prefer and keep some in
your supply.
Baby Wipes: These are multi-purpose and
convenient to use. When processed with Betadine and
Peroxide, they provide a measure of immediate sanitization
for you and your customer. Good investment.
House supplies you will need to keep in your room
include:
"Trick" sheet, towel and washcloth.
"Trick sheets": These are flat sheets
and are located on the shelf in the laundry room. You will
use a clean sheet for each date. You use these by spreading
them out over your bed so you and the customer can lay on
them. This helps prevent your bed linens from becoming
soiled. After your date ends and you have escorted them to
the bar, you take your trick sheet and put it in the laundry
basket in the laundry room and get a clean one to bring back
to your room.
Personal Garbage: Since you will be
using condoms, baby wipes and other disposable items during
a date, keeping your garbage emptied is a necessity and just
good hygiene. No customer likes to go in your room and see
used condoms, etc. from the previous date, laying in your
garbage can, so it is imperative that you dispose of your
garbage after every date. There is a designated garbage can
for all your personal waste located outside the kitchen
door. You must not dispose of your waste in the "common"
garbage cans, it's against the Health Code. Disposing of
your garbage after each date is easily done when you take
your trick sheet to the laundry room. Just tie your garbage
off, take it with you and put it in the can outside the
kitchen door.
Towel/Washcloth: It is a good idea to
keep a clean towel and a washcloth hanging in your room at
all times. Customers may want to wash up either before
and/or after the date. And, it is convenient for you, as
well.
